Dead Heat (July 9 2011)
BRAAAAIIIIIIIINS! It was an ordinary treasure hunt in the park, when out of the darkness of the forest stumbled Frau Doktor Zombiesatemeinbrains. It was too late to save her, but in the moments before death, she managed to impart the bloodcurdling news: through a series of lab experiments gone horribly awry, the Doktor had unwittingly loosed the walking dead on the world. Unless someone could find the Necronomicon and read the spell to lay the undead to Earth, soon the world would be filled with shambling, rotting corpses. Sure enough, as the Doktor breathed her death rattle, the teams looked up to find uber-Zombie Patient Zero stumbling toward them. Armed with nothing but barely-loaded pistols, the help of a lone Medic, and the scraps of information the Doktor had been collecting before her untimely demise, and prevented from using any kind of computer or telephone technology, the teams set out to rescue humanity. Considering the horror of the situation, it seems in appropriate to congratulate our winners, but even in the zombie apocalypse, life must go on. Thanks to all who assisted with the futile battle to save humanity, especially to Deb A., Seb. K., Deb K., and Dave H. for their help and to Natalie G. and Ryan M. for their participation as the Medic and Patient Zero, respectively. The Standings
- "Best Costumes"... Special Tactics and Rescue Service (Captain: Dave H.), for their super-cool uniform Ts.
- Winning Team ... the Post Apocalyptic Warriors (Captain: Juliana B.) were the last non-zombified Survivor team but chose to read the spell to Raise the Undead Legions
- Winning Side ... Zombies (Braaaiiiiins!)
- First to the Necronomicon... Not Delicious(Captain: Heather C.), who had to leave the game early
- Best Anti-Zombie Evasion... The Cheapside Dandies(Captain: Devon M.), who are the source of many of the electrifying chase stories of the day
The Clues
Teams received a bloodstained handwritten note from the good Doktor; a mysterious typed page of gibberish; an article ripped out of a book on how to solve certain ciphers (upon which the Doktor seemed to have scrawled a series of letters); a printed sheet of music; and a small water gun filled with zombie-killing ammo. Oh, and the Doktor's half-eaten lunch: a scrap of bread, some cabbage, a fragment of cheese, and a green onion.BRAAAAAAAAIIIIIIINS!!
