Dead Heat (July 9 2011 [tentative])

This year's flagship hunt is "DEAD HEAT", with a zombie-apocalypse theme: a treasure hunt to un-die for.

Have you got speed, skill, and BRAAAIIIIIIINNNNNSSSS?

If your answer was yes, you and your team may be SURVIVORS. SURVIVORS:

• must destroy the Necronomicon to prevent the zombie apocalypse
• are armed with a single "gun" per team
• must return to a medical station if a team member is tagged by zombies... or abandon that team member to join the zombies

If your answer was no, you and your team may be ZOMBIES. ZOMBIES:

• must obtain the Necronomicon to raise armies of the living dead
• may walk or run only when holding hands with the rest of their team members
• must return to a respawn location if a team member is "shot"

After the zombie uprising, most technologies -- like the Internet, cell phones, and GPS -- are offline. Teams must rely on nothing but their wits and the kindness of strangers to follow a trail of clues through the playing area to the evil book of the dead known as the Necronomicon. Every team on the winning side receives a prize -- but only the first team to the book wins the grand prize.

Teams are also encouraged to come in appropriate COSTUME. There will be themed prizes for the teams voted Best Survivor Costumes and Best Zombie Costumes!

Place: Outdoors, Toronto. Exact starting location and play area (TTC subway accessible) TBA to paid registrants one week in advance.
Cost: $40/team of 2-6 [tentative]

Registration opens June 1, 2011! Spaces will be limited to 5 zombie teams and 5 survivor teams, so register early to avoid disappointment. Early registrants will also receive special secret clues in advance of the hunt.
